Question Why? - August 27th 2012, 06:17 AM

So I have been depressed for sometime, but it was always at night when I was alone that I would get the sad feelings. But now for some reason the sadness is moving into the rest of my life I get randomly sad and down. I can be out doing something with friends and I realize that I haven't talked in about an hour because I've been to busy trying not to cry or biting my lip. I just want to know why it can't just be like before where I only want to die when I'm alone instead of all the time.

Hey there,

I'm really sorry things are so bad for you right now, but I want you to know that you're not alone. I also want you to know that it's not okay to want to die at all, whether you're with people or not. That's a serious thing that you've got going on, and I hope you realise that you're worth more than that.

First of all, it's okay not to be okay. You don't have to hide that from people. When you're with people and not speaking because you're too busy trying not to cry, maybe you could tell them you're unhappy instead? Perhaps afterwards you could explain why you were so quiet, that way people will know you're struggling and you may not feel so alone in it anymore. It's important that you know that you're not alone. Things like this happen with other people too. I know that I've had similar experiences with the feeling down at night thing, and you shouldn't have to suffer that in silence.

The problems seems a bit more serious than that if you're getting thoughts of dying. I would seriously recommend you talk to a professional about this. While this can be scary, it can honestly help you sort through what's going on right now and tackle why you feel so down. It wont be easy, but it's worth a shot. You don't deserve to feel like this, especially when there are so many reasons to be alive.

I hope you manage to tell someone about how you're feeling. It can really help and you're worth that. Life has a lot more to offer than just how you feel right now, and if you fight, you can get much further. I hope this has helped a bit, and if you ever need to talk my PM box is always open for you.
