Question please help... - February 19th 2013, 11:05 PM

there is no one who understands me, i am the odd one out at school. People don't talk to me because i am different and my parents want me to do well at school. I am kept away from social networking sites because they are 'unsafe' and my connections with my old friends are being cut off. I cant explain this to my parents because they will overreact and the only person who did understand me has a boyfriend now so it is 'uncool' to speak to me. I am lonely and confused, i don't want to change who i am but is that the way forward, soon i will have no one, please help.

Hi there! I'm Christabel, I understand you.

Sorry you're feeling this way. I understand how you feel, I can definitely relate because I have no friends in real life and my parents have the same opinion about social sites and it breaks my heart hence my best friend is an internet friend.

Can you talk to the school counselor or teacher about the situation and how you feel? Maybe writing a letter to your parents will work so they can't over-react in the middle of you talking and explaining how you feel?

Don't change yourself for anyone. You deserve to have friends who like you for who you are. Being yourself is the most beautiful thing a person can be. Of course, sometimes it's good to fix our flaws and work on some, but we aren't perfect, nobody is. Everyone deserves to be accepted though.

I'm here if you need to talk. I'd also love to get to know you. You sound interesting and we're going through the same things. You can PM/VM me anytime!

Stay Strong <3
