Post no one to go to, just a burden - July 31st 2009, 03:15 PM

I've been rather down and depressed for about a year and half now.
I've attempted suicide, I don't want to do that again.
I was starting to get better but since fathers day everything has gotten so much worse.
And there's 2 people I can talk to about this, my best friend and one of my really good friends.
And I know they care but I feel like I'm such a burden to them.
Everyone else thinks I'm this happy, life loving girl about to start high school with my only problems having to do with relationships like everyone else.
But that's not me. I have so much more going on in my life that only those 2 people know about.
They both say that I can come to them whenever I'm down or upset and talk to them because they don't want anything to happen to me.
But here lately I always feel down. I'm never really that happy.
I don't want to constantly be telling them about how bad I feel because they're off having fun vacationing and stuff. And if I talk about it for too long they just sorta blow me off so I try to not talk about it that much so they won't get mad or whatever but then I just feel worse.
I keep getting more depressed and I don't know what to do or who to go to about it.
Parents are out of the question, they have enough going on as it is.
I just feel like a burden to everyone :(

Hey there! I can relate with how you are feeling as I've been there and done that. I think that the best possible way to deal with it is to get a good and caring counselor. There's only so much that people online can do about it. But if you speak to someone closer to home.

And if you want you can PM me anytime, I'd be glad to be of help to you.

I hope everything goes okay with you.

I know how you feel. I was depressed for 6 months, and I didn't have any one to talk to or to support me. I can promise you this though, no matter how much you feel like a burden, YOU AREN'T. I'm betting your 2 friends really really care about you and would stand by you through anything. Just hang in there, things will get better. If they don't, you can always talk to your counseler at school. Your parents wouldn't have to know, and it would help you.

Feel better, if you need to talk, just PM me. (:

Hello
From the way you've just spoke I observed two things about you. You are strong and caring.
It takes alot to reach out for help and everyone on here is strong, just for seeking out help or offering it.
so i'll offer you mine.
I've been in a very similar situation, and it feels like the only one you can trust absolutely is yourself, but at the same time you cant stand it.
You are not a burden, but maybe you should try keeping a journal if you want to let out your emotions without telling others. It may seem silly but its quite helpful.
Hope i helped
PM me anytime =]
