What experience have people had with SAM-e? - October 24th 2009, 05:37 PM

So I went to a psychologist for the first time yesterday and she recommended I try this thing called SAM-e, which is like a natural anti-depressant and also has some other benefits like being a pain reliever sort of. I'm going to be evaluated by a psychiatrist as well, and I figure I'll probably be put on anti-depressants. The psychologist said that SAM-e can be taken with some kinds of anti-depressants and I should talk to the psychiatrist about whether I should keep taking SAM-e with the medications I may be prescribed. Anyways though! I was just wondering what experience people have had with SAM-e, both taken with and without other anti-depressants.

Not sure whether this is better suited to D&S or Mental Health, sorry
