Celexa/Cytalopram - March 20th 2010, 06:10 AM

So, I'm taking my first anti-depressant... I don't know if it's actually helping...

I've been taking it since December, and I'm still feeling like crap. I miss my baby. I miss my life the way it was. I can't stop trying to forget, and it just makes things worse...

I'm making changes, and I feel good about them for a day, or sometimes less... I'm making positive changes in myself... My lifestyle... My habits...

IDK... Maybe it's just 'cause I've been overloaded for so long that it's taking a while to work...

Hey Jo Jo,
Well if you think it's not working, talk to your doctor. It's not uncommon to be on a couple of medications before finding one that works, especially for teenagers. Since our body is constantly changing one could work for a while, then we may need an increased dose or different medication. Don't be afriad to tell your doctor it isn't working or the side effects are unbearable. Because there is no point in taking a medication if it isn't helping. Pm me if you ever want to talk.
Take care,
Alessa

Alessa - Thing is, I want to be off this stuff by the time I leave in May, but I don't think I'll be alright to at that point... Especially since it doesn't seem to be helping. I haven't asked my mom how she thinks it's working, but then again... Y'know?

Yeah definately ask your mom if she thinks it's helping. Often times I feel medications aren't working but my family sees a difference in me. But still, if you don't think it's working, try something else. Even if you want to be off it in May, it's okay to need it to be okay. Better okay with medication then not okay without.
