more and more alone - June 13th 2011, 11:53 AM

I'm not entirely sure why I'm writing this, and i dunno what it'll accomplish

But i feel more n more alone everyday. My bf n I rarely talk now i rarely talk to my friends either for i feel like i dont belong.
I feel i have no one to talk to and all of this and other things are making me wanna not be here....again
I dunno what to do anymore, all i wanna do is curl up into a ball

Dear Sammi,

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a hard time right now. Social isolation can really take a toll on one's mental well-being - I know well how that is.

If it means anything, I am here for you any time, if you want someone to talk to, or just to say hi. And many others in the community, I'm sure, would be happy to as well.

Hey!

Well, I had this same problem about midway through last school year. It was dreadful. Yeah, I had friends, but those friends just made me feel bad about myself, and I started just staying alone most of the time.

My advice to you is...

Find new friends! I know it sounds hard, but just get out there, and talk to some more people. When someone on this site told me to do this, I pretty much didn't want to follow their advice because I thought it would be pointless, seeing how I thought I was pretty boring.

But after I started getting out and talking to people, I met my best friend, Ashley, and my other best friend, Ashley's boyfriend, Carter. They're really amazing people to talk to, unlike some of my old friends. And from then on, I just made more and more friends. I realized then that whoever told me to just go and meet more people, and have an open mind when talking to people, was perfectly right.

And about your boyfriend: If you talk rarely, then make more of an effort to talk to him! And if that doesn't work, perhaps you could try seeing other people, if you feel that's the right thing for you to do.
