Hi, ok im just guna get straight to it, Im sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum but i FUCKING HATE school, here in the UK its GCSE's and its GCSEs this and that, Im not saying im thick im not its just school is SOO boaring im currently failing most subjects becuase im sick of it. its utter shit.. and its really getting me down, the feeling that im going to throw my life away.. m not thick i just cant be botherd with this hole "School" nonsense.. Im in year 11 facing the prospect of failing. I just want a job.. but "Without GCSE's you wont get one" Fuck off i know plenty people that have got ok jobs and are on a decent income. So fuck you to your socitey and your shitty way of mainstreaming ever person, Im not a school person. Im a hard worker if its something i enjoy, I really can put effort into things but not school its another waste of my life, and i know its nothing in terms of time wise but its too much. Im just sick to death of it.

I apologise if this is worded incorrectly or if it doesnt make any sense. Thank you for taking the time to read my "Rant" or cry for help. Any response is greatly appriciated!

I'm in the U.S. and we have our own version of these known as SAT/ACT for underdraduate college and the GRE GMAT LSAT etc (for graduate school) so it isn't just you who feels this way and a lot of the stuff they constantly tell you turns out to be wrong anyway. Drove me crazy too.

I hate the idea that your "compitence" to do something comes down to a letter on a bit of paper ITS INFURIATING. I honestly just want to punch my head teacher. Fucking sick of hearing about exams.

I know, they demonstrate your ability to take tests more than anything. You don't need a test to tell you that, just ask me and I'll tell you how bad I am at it. Standardized tests, I'm horrible at, regular tests I do just fine. I hate the idea that if you don't do well on them (however that's defined and by whom) you're entire life is supposedly ruined which is nowhere even close to true.

I know where you're coming from. I'm disillusioned too. I used to be a straight A student back when I believed school actually taught you things you needed to know. After going to middle and high school I saw the truth and now the girl who got the top PSAT score in the school is consistently failing her classes. But really, in the US school is a lie. You don't really learn anything, you just have to do this well on the tests so the school can get funding and buy the kindergärtners iPads while the high school has 10 year old PCs. I'm not kidding you, they did that here. They are also replacing the elementary school computers with Macs that cost over $1000 apiece while the high school is apparently getting their request for new textbooks denied yet again due to a lack of funds.

Maybe if schools would teach for students to learn instead of shoving content down our throats just for a test (so they can buy fancy stuff to look good) then more students would do better? I don't know about you but I don't think students need fancy Apple products to learn. However, we do need textbooks that have covers and all the pages.
