Unhappy Izzy - July 25th 2010, 11:52 PM

i just found out, like five minutes ago. my best friend Jess's dog, Izzy, has cancer again and the tumor split. in the spring, she got cancer, and they had it removed. shes a really old dog, almost 18 years old. shes blind, and almost deaf, but shes so adorable and sweet. Jess has had her her entire life, and i feel so bad! Izzy's one of the sweetest dogs ive ever met, and its so sad! her muzzle is all geryish white from age, but the rest of her is still black. she has the cutest little paws, and even though shes blind now, her eyes are still beautiful. and the way her hears fold over at the tips, so cute! but shes about to die, and its so hard for me, and ive only seen her once in my life. Jess has had her her whole life, and her mom and dad had her for almost 18 years! i cant even imajine how tough it is for them, even though she's still here for just a little bit longer. its so sad!!!

It's always sad to lose a pet, whether they pass away or you have to give them up for adoption. When I was a baby, my family had a dalmatian named Jake, and he was killed by an electric fence running into the farmland across the street. It was the only dog I ever had and when I see pictures, I would love to still have him here. I recently had to give my cat Milo up for adoption, because we moved out of our old house and we weren't allowed to have pets in our new one.

However, you learn to live by the memories and the times you had together. Sure, it's going to be rough on her family but with the right kind of support it'll ease the pain. She could also try getting her dog cremated so she can keep the ashes. I've known lots of people to do that and they say it makes them feel a whole lot better.

Never regret anything because at one time, it's exactly what you wanted. PM me. (:
