Do I have the right to phone the RSPCA yet? - September 20th 2010, 11:14 PM

My sister is the manager of a pub. I went up there earlier to help her clean and just drank a few cans of coke. I overheard these men who live a few streets away from me talking about cats going in their garden all the time and how it annoys them. I didn't think much of it and went home. My sister just come to my house as she left her purse here and said she overheard them talking again about killing the cats with antifreeze :/ My sister told them how disgusting it would be and asked them to promise her they wouldn't do it. They said they couldn't promise her anything.

Since they haven't done anything yet could we still phone the RSPCA? Surely they would know it was us (well, probably just think my sister) but we don't care >____<

Luckily my cat doesn't go that far. He only goes in the fields by my house. Still, they're peoples' pets ffs >____<

I think you could report it to the RSPCA. I'm not sure what they could do about it, because nothing has actually been done, but they might be able to do something, maybe go and check out the area and speak to them. If you're concerned about the welfare of some animals, then you can report it to the RSPCA.

It's better to do it and prevent it happening, than reporting it after when the animals are dead.

:/

I'll probably phone them in the morning. Ugh, this is exactly why I hate my cat going out >____< I wouldn't mind if we lived in a nicer neighbourhood but ours is full of sick bastards >____< They're in their 60s/70s ffs :/ Cats around here got killed by antifreeze before and I thought it was kids >____<

To be honest I'd be one of the people annoyed at cats going into their garden but I'd go with humane ways to keep them out. Yeah, phone the RSPCA and see what they can do but I doubt the can do anything.

Well if it's happened like that before, then chances are it could be the same people. You could tell the RSPCA about it happening before, and that these people have been overheard saying it, so the two good be linked.

Let us know how it goes.

They should have already reported that cats, then they'd have no problem.

But, yes, you should make the call.

Should I phone the RSPCA in my local area (I just found the number nearest to where I live on their site) or the main number? (0300 1234 999)

Local would be the obvious choice... the other number will just direct you there anyway.
