my bird flew away and im falling apart =(

his name was fruitloop and he was a sun conjure. i got him 2 years ago and hes been my bestfriend ever since. he was the cutest little thing i have ever seen. we would always cuddle together and hang out after school. but on saturday, he flew out the door and landed on my roof. i ran outside and tried to get his attention but he wouldnt listen. then, right as i was about to climb the roof and get him, he flew again. this time he landed in a tall tree in my neighbors yard. i stayed there all day trying everything i could to try to get him to fly to me. i brought out his favorite treats and asked him to step up so many times but he wouldnt come. finally, it started getting dark outside and he stoped squalking at me and went to sleep. it was really cold and he wasnt responding so my mom made me give up on him and come inside. it was way too cold for him to survive. i havnt found his body but i know he can still be alive.
i miss him so much and i feel so bad for giving up on him. i feel like i should have done more to save him. i miss him so much. he was supposed to live till i was 40 but he had to die so young. im litterally falling appart and i cant stop crying. i dont know how i can move on without him.
and also, my parents are looking into finding a new bird but no other bird will be as special as him. i dont really want a new bird, i want a time machine so i can go back and save him. i love him so much!!!!

I am sooooo sorry to hear that, dear :/
It must be so hard for you right now.
I think we all make special bonds with our pets and when something like this happens it can just destroy us.
Maybe just leaving it a while will help?
Also, why not make a book of pictures of him or something to look back on. to remember him by.
You want to be able to smile when you think of him.. not be upset

Over time maybe you will want another pet..

Don't give up, they're actually really smart birds. For the next few days at least, leave a window or something wide open, you might see him make his way in, due to being uncomfortable in the cold or missing his favourite foods. The reason he probably didn't come right back to you was since he was having a great time exploring places he hadn't explored before, but they'll want familiarity if stressed, which he probably will be in such a strange environment. So maybe open a window wide, leave some of his favourite treats just inside, and perhaps have his cage in that room too, again with the door open, who knows?
As I said, they're really smart birds, there's still a chance.
