I think she's having problems eating. - October 29th 2011, 05:39 PM

Hey guys.

So I have a cat, and she's about 15 now. I've noticed that quite often when she eats, she'll come away from the food and put her paw up to her mouth to like...get something out of her mouth. We thought it was because we'd put treats on the floor for her and she'd picked up a hair or something, but I just gave her her dinner and she did the same thing. I cleaned out the bowl, put the food in, then put it down for her. Usually she'd eat it all and then come away, just now she barely touched it, came away and did the thing with her paw again. I'm concerned, and just wondered if there's anything I can do to make sure she's okay, or whether you can suggest a reason for this.

Thanks in advance,
Hollie.

This sounds like maybe her teeth are bothering her. Have you checked in her mouth when she does this? I know my cats do it when they have something stuck in their teeth.
