It is a somewhat common thing to happen. They are still getting used to the scent of the house. But I do suggest keeping them away from any other pets he may have. And after a week if it doesn't improve call a vet or like you said the ASPCA. But if the two of you are pretty worried about it I do suggest calling them Monday just in case something is wrong.
