I went 3 whole months with not cutting even once and i felt fine and i thought i was finally over it. Im getting so depressed lately and to make matters worse i cut multiple times today. More scars to add to my collection and 3 whole months down the drain i dont even know what to do anymore.

Hey Bryan,

I really think I needed to mention to you how amazing you are for going through 3 whole months without self harming. And just because you slipped up today doesn't mean everything you worked so hard for those past 3 months is ruined. 1 day out of 90 is pretty amazing, I think. I mean, there are twenty four hours in each of those days. Each hour is probably hard to get through and you went through 90 days of that.

Sometimes slipping up is hard, especially when we feel the one slip up ruins everything we worked so hard for. But you always have another day to continue quitting. Not start over, but continue. Getting better is an on-going thing, and it's honestly something that sometimes sneaks up on you. But the best thing you can do is not to give up. Not on what you want and not on yourself. Because you're worth it. And you have everything you need to be able to completely quit.

If you need anything at all, I want you to know I'm here for you. Take care of yourself and try to be positive about this.

Take care,
-Melissa

Hey Bryan,

As Mel said - I want you to know how amazing 3 months is! That's nearly 100 days, 100 whole days. It shows how strong you are and I believe you can get through this.

It takes time to beat this, things will start to look up and then they will suddenly take a dip again, but you have shown that you can fight this. Try to pick yourself up where you left off, I know it will be hard but it is OK. Most people have relapses, you aren't on your own. You are worth more than this!

PM me if you ever need a chat,
Take care.

Hey Bryan! I know right now it seems difficult to realize, but three months is inspiring and incredible! You are so strong for that. Instead of concentrating on your slip-up, you should focus on getting right back on that road to recovery! Everyone slip-ups and they are a part of getting through self harm. Life is such a rollercoaster ride, but when it's down, just take it right back up.

Let me know if you ever want to talk, okay? I'm here for you.

There is always hope. PM me anytime.

Hey Bryan,

I agree with what has already been said. 3 months is honestly fantastic and just shows that you can stop self harming. You have to remember that slip ups are part of recovery so you might slip up whilst trying to stop but the thing that matters now is how you move on from the slip up. There is no point in beating yourself up about it because it has happened now. You have to pick yourself back up and try again. Next time you might make it longer without self harm. You have shown that you can do this by going 3 months without it! So there is no reason why you can't do it again. Use that strength inside of you to pull through this difficult time. I know you can do it!

If you ever need anything at all then you are always welcome to PM me. Stay strong.

Re: 3 Whole months down the drain :( - March 14th 2010, 01:14 AM

today has been three months and 5 days for me. and i never once thought that it was the end of my cutting. and still dont, every day is a challenge, every minute in fact. im doing this for my friend. because she knows that i cut and it hurts her, and i just want to hurt me, not my best friend. so all i can say really is try again. this is the longest i have ever went without cutting. and the friend i was talking about, has went way longer. so i know that its hard and feels impossible, but just try. if you ever need to talk? im here.

And I'll be here by the ocean just waiting for proof that theres sunsets and silhouette dreams, All my sand castles fall like the ashes of cigarettes and every wave drags me to sea, I could stand here for hours just to ask God the question, "Is everyone here make-believe?".With a tear in His voice, He said, "Son, that's the question."
Does this deafening silence mean nothing to no one but me?

As everyone has already said, 3 months is incredible. Don't think of it as a failure or 3 months "down the drain". Think of it as a break - everyone's allowed a little slip up. You just have to stand back up and carry on going. 1 out of 90+ days is an amazing feat, and if you could make 3 months and then have a "break", who's to say you can't do it again?? Why not try for 100 days next time?? You can do it, we all know you can, and you know it too Good luck. PM me if you want to talk

Hey Bryan

Everyone who is trying to quit something slips up once it is good that you went 3 months it takes loads of courage and detmanation to do this it is not 3 months down the drain it shows how strong you are most people slip up in the first few weeks but you have done 3 months you may have thoughts were you just want to harm your self but hey you can get throught them and maybe even go longer than 3 months with out harming just because you have slipped up once don't think that you are a failure and that you have to go back to a life of harming cause you don't.

My inbox is always open
