Hi there Andy.
![]() I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with anxiety lately. Anxiety is one of the many reasons that people often feel the need to self harm, so you're definitely not the only one who faces self harm urges due to problems with anxiety. School, I've found, is one of the main sources of anxiety for a lot of people. The things that are most important to us will almost always cause anxiety at least sometime in our lives. Anxiety has close ties with depression, so if you have been feeling overwhelmingly sad as well, then this is probably due to the anxiety you are suffering from. Fortunately, though, anxiety is quite possible to overcome, even if you are fighting it on your own. Firstly, you need to make sure that you have scheduled "me time" throughout your day. A lot of times we keep our schedules jam packed, especially when it comes to school. You might have a lot of things that need to get done throughout the day, but don't let that take away from the fact that you need to stop and take care of yourself. Have time to relax for a couple hours during the day. Time to have fun, to do things that you enjoy. This will help get rid of some of the anxiety you are feeling, and will help you to be more prepared to deal with the anxiety when it arises. You also need to make sure you are taking care of your body. This means eating healthily, exercising, sleeping well, etc. You ALWAYS need to have the time to take care of yourself, because you are the most important thing in your life. School, and everything else, should come in second, not first, to your health and mental well being. A lot of times, stress can cause nightmares. I think that once you tackle the problem of your stress, then your nightmares may stop occurring as well. Here's some information I found on preventing nightmares: (http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders...s-busting-tips) Quote:
I hope that everything improves soon! Good luck, and take care. ------ Though I walk through the valley of the shadow ofAmanda Panda death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 |
