Cut my leg....

Why do I always do this............I dont understand............I cut my leg last night, quite badly, noone knows. Only me.
I dont know what to do.
Do I even want help? I think I do. I dunno.

I know how hard it is to fight the urge to SH, as I am battling with this very monster myself. One thing I think you need to understand, SH is an addiction. Some people do it without realizing it and stop themselves after they already SH.

Honestly I think you know the answer to your question, or else you wouldn't have posted here, or question what you thought. I you didn't want to help yourself, I don't think you would be here Jaymi, but you are!!! Posting and being a part of TH proves you want to fight this malicious battle and get rid of SH all together.

You will have Slip ups, but you need to remind yourself, that it isn't the end, nor does it make you a failure!!! You are a special person, with a bright future to let SH get in the way!!! The most we can do learn from our slip ups. I know you must have seen it already, but have you check out the Alternatives to self harm? I find when I get the urge to SH, I do one of the following; I put 4-6 Ice cubes in a cup and A squeeze them or hold them till my hands feel numb, then when they are numb, then I suck on the remainder of the ice cubes. This ALWAYS works for me. Another method I try is the Cold shower. I don't even touch the hot water tap. I go in and see just how long I can tough it out. Eventually I come feeling too cold so I take a nice bath or shower, and I forget about the urge. The Last thing I try is indulging myself in my writing, playing a video game, or cooking. Mainly Cooking and Writing. Whatever it is I do, I put all of that negative energy and use it against itself.
