"Why" - September 13th 2011, 10:40 PM

i know this may seem weird, but i'm addictid to this song called "Why." Its a song about a person who commited suicide. I listen to it everyday, I fall asleep listening to it. When I listen to it, it is usually for like 2 hours in a row. I've tried to stop listening to it, but stuff sad always happens so I listen to it, to let out my feelings, in a way. Is there anything I could do to stop listening to it? Or like is it even bad that I'm addicted to the song?

I got off track I've made mistakes Back slid my way to that place where souls get lost lines get crossed and the pain won't go away.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. It won't cause you or anyone else any harm. You may get sick of it after a while but I think that's all that will come of that. Other than that, if you think it's a good song and it helps you cope and you enjoy it, then why not listen to it? If you really want to "get off" the song, try finding other songs with similar lyrics/meaning and see if you can find other songs you like and make a playlist that'll help you cope with whatever you're going through. Good luck. If you need anything, PM me.

Sometimes I get obsessed with a song for awhile too. It could be because you can relate to the lyrics you maybe you just like the melody. You'll probably get sick of it sooner or later

I don't think there's anything wrong with listening to a song all the time. I love that song too, so I get it. The only thing that even points to a problem is the fact that it bothers you. What happens when you try to stop?

Unless it gets to the point where you cannot imagine life without that song, and that you cannot imagine doing anything without the song, no you are not addicted to it.
And addictions pushes you beyond functioning without the addictive substance or item. So unless you would highly consider comitting suicide or entering deep depression without the song, I would say it's not an addiction, and more a like/dislike.
