New Years Resolution - May 25th 2014, 11:46 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of suicide, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread therefore might not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I never, ever make New Years Resolution because I think it's really dumb to pick an arbitrary day to start something because of a tradition.

But this year I made myself a New Years promise, I guess it also be considered a resolution...

I want to go 12 months without trying to commit suicide (more, but let's take baby steps)

I have tried to kill myself at least once every year, for the past four years.

I want to go an entire year without trying to end my life.

This is really important to me... I really don't know why. It's hard because I have a lot of suicidal ideation. I want to meet this goal.

November 29, 2013-November 29, 2014

It has been 177 days, I have 188 more to go... I think I'm doing pretty well... I am trying to keep strong.

My ears are always open. If you want to vent, chit-chat, anything, just send me a message

Every drop in the ocean counts.

I think this is an amazing goal to be setting for yourself. I know how hard it can be to set goals like this for yourself but you deserve to live and you deserve so much better then to be harming yourself. Something that might help you work through this is by making a list of reasons to live. I know when I have thoughts of suicide making a list of reasons to lives helps me stay strong. It doesn't matter how small or large the list is it just helps to have it.

If you need anything please feel free to message me.
