Question Does This Count? - April 25th 2012, 02:23 AM

I wasn't really sure but could trying to physically harm some one still be abuse. Like thowing objects and stuff. But you always miss on purpose just to scare them. I sound stupid asking and ibdont want to insult. I think I have anger management problems! I how can I help this.
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post in.

As far as if it's abuse or not, that's debatable, but it can definitely be seen as attempted assault, or intentions for assault. Are you the one throwing things? Or is someone throwing them at you? If it's a daily thing, done to certain people, or even just weekly, it can be considered abuse, but again, that can be debatable. If you're the one throwing the objects, have you ever thought of trying anger management classes? They can really help, especially when you find yourself angry a lot and/or unable to control your anger. If it's someone else, have you asked them to stop? If you have, have you told a trusted adult?

I was wondering the same thing, are you the one throwing things? Or being thrown stuff at? Again, it is debatable about calling it abuse, but it could be. Maybe even emotional abuse if that person is purposefully doing it to make someone sad or scared.

You said you have anger issues? Have you thought about talking to a professional?
They could assess you and find a way to help you.
Maybe it would help you to talk to a therapist about all these feelings you are having.

I'm sorry this is happening, but it should be taken care of before things get worse.

Shelby

I am the one throwing things. And it's not really well thought out. When I throw things it's like I just have to to get rid of my anger not to really harm.

Hey there,

I don't think that it'd be "abuse" per se because your intentions are not to hurt anyone. You simply would like to vent your anger - which is totally okay. I suggest you try doing other things to take your anger out besides scaring someone. The first thing to do is step away from the situation and then do things like yoga, write, scream in a pillow, go for a run, etc. I think those things will help you break free of the anger episodes. If trying these things is unhelpful, perhaps you should look into talking to a therapist. As they'll have more answers for you to cope with the anger.

Good luck.

I completely agree with the post above.
There are other ways that you need to learn to cope with your anger. She gave great examples like screaming in a pillow, meditation, ect.
You could also try something crafty, dancing, anything will help you in a healthy way.

If you are finding it really hard to handle, talk to a professional. They could help you learn new ways to control your anger in a healthy way.

Good luck! Keep trying!

Shelby
