Questions on Child Abuse - April 5th 2009, 06:18 PM

I already posted asking for help, but I only got one reply.

So if everyone could answer these questions for my research paper that'd be really good.

Thanks a bunchhh

1- What type of abuse did you deal with throughout your childhood?

2- Was it reported,

----If so, what was the process like after it was reported?

3- If not why? And how did it come to an end?

4- Do you think that Child Advocacy groups, parents, schools, and society are doing enough in protecting children from being abused?

5- If not, what do you think could lower abuse rates in children?

Decision changed. If there are no replies by tommorow, OP has said the thread can be closed.

1- What type of abuse did you deal with throughout your childhood?
I was raped by my moms ex-boyfriend from before I can remember up until I was 7 years old. My dad use to lock me in a bedroom all the time while going over to his house and barley took care of us. I remember eating leftover food around the room and drinking pop with ciggert butts in thems. I also remember sneeking into the kitchen with my brothers trying to find something to eat because we hadn't ate that day. Spanked if I cried because I missed my mom and grandma and for wanting to go home and once for getting sick, and lies my dads wife told him about me doing something I wasn't. When my grandma picked me up my hair was a rats nest and I hadn't shower the whole time I was there. My mom has anger issues and she takes her fusterations out on me. She has hit, punched, shoved, pushed, and held me down even though I've not even layed a hand on her. She has threaten to kick my ass, punch my face in, chock me, and many other things. She calls me a bitch and tells me to fuck myself. I've never cussed at her. Mom has been negletful of my medical health. When I was younger I use to get lice a lot and I would be kicked out of school and each time would be gone for a week or two. Which was the reason why I failed second grade.
2- Was it reported,
We've had children serveses called on us before but nothing has happened. They would come to our house and look around and we'd get questions. Nothing happen.
3- If not why? And how did it come to an end?
I don't know why. I told my grandma when I was 7 that my moms boyfriend was touching me and she told my mom who kicked him out. They don't know the extent of the abuse. As for my dads house I didn't really tell anyone what was going on there. After my dad tried to kidnap me I didn't see him for a long time and I was too old for him for him to do that stuff to me like he did when I was younger. As for my mom it's really complecated.
4- Do you think that Child Advocacy groups, parents, schools, and society are doing enough in protecting children from being abused?
No I do not. I feel like Children Serveses doesn't do enough to protect kids.
5- If not, what do you think could lower abuse rates in children?
Well weather we like it or not child abuse is going to happen and it happens everywhere. It's a matter of reporting and taking action.

1- What type of abuse did you deal with throughout your childhood?

I've dealt with sexual abuse from my teacher, my cousin and a younger friend. I've been abused physically from my mother and the emotional abuse doesn't really stop.

2- Was it reported,

No, it hasn't been. My mother knows about my cousin, to a point. She doesn't know enough to think it was rape.

----If so, what was the process like after it was reported?

3- If not why? And how did it come to an end?

I finally moved out of the house, away from my cousin and we talked. My friend stopped once I beat him up and my teacher once I moved up a grade. My mom still continues sometimes.

4- Do you think that Child Advocacy groups, parents, schools, and society are doing enough in protecting children from being abused?

I don't.

5- If not, what do you think could lower abuse rates in children?

We need to teach children and talk about it more. It should be taught that they're valuable human beings and anything unwanted needs to be dealt with. I find a lot of the people I talk to blame themselves, and things need to be taut against this. We also need to show them degrees of abuse and that it's all serious stuff. Too many kids go quiet because they think it isn't serious or important. They need to be shown how small can lead to large. They need to be shown different kinds, other than physical and sexual abuse. I wasn't even aware of all of this until later in my years. I think it should be implemented into the school systems. Plus, Child Services need to be more about the children and less about their power high.
