What do you think it may be? -

I can't really explain it.. the only way I can explain it is that I don't feel alive. I mean.. I'm not fully here. Sometimes, I come to full reality but I guess it scares me so I go back to I guess feeling "half-dead". I actually remember the day I noticed this. It was the summer before 6th grade which was about 2-3 years ago. That is when I started cutting. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I guess I'm rambling. But, this scares me.. and, I just wanna know if anyone else has ever felt this way. Also, if this is some sort of mental health problem type thing.. I don't know. Anyways, help?

i get like this all the time ! i'm not sure what it is . i think everyhing
just get SO overwhelming that i forget i'm a person. i just kinda ... i feel completely numb ! i dont know if its a coping mechanism or what i dont know ...  I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead. I'll just keep holding on to what i believe and oh I believe in you. Give me the strength for the fight and the heart to believe cause I've got to believe in you. I feel so alive. I actually found out what this is.. it's called depersonalization or derealization. The real term for it is a dissociation disorder. And, it freaking sucks. I finally found out what it is. But, I'm not telling anyone to get better. I'm just gonna deal with it.

Michelle, Depersonalization/Derealization is not automatically a disorder, it can also be a symptom. For example, sufferers of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can go through either one easily.
You should probably talk to your family doctor (GP) about this, and if they can't help you, they'll refer you to somebody who can, like a psychiatrist. Yes. I know that. But, I ruled that out. I researched it alot last night. And, I've been going through this for I don't know how many years thinking that it was just something wrong with me.. but, this really relates. And, I don't wanna talk to my mom about it to get me to a doctor because, knowing her.. she won't think it's "that serious". So, I'm just gonna diagnose myself and research it more to see if it can get better.

Diagnosing yourself is the worst thing you can do. Especially since there are many other mental illnesses with the depersonalization/derealization as a symptom. I'm pretty sure you're not a professional, so you probably shouldn't be so quick to "rule things out".
Honestly, you can tell your doctor yourself if you have an appointment, like do you get check-ups? Birth control? Any kind of medication for any condition that you need to see your doctor for? You can easily mention it to your doctor through one of those appointments. But, if you're not going to get help, I can't force you (obviously). Dare to be Different, to be Weird, to be a Freak.
