Am I Crazy? Creative? or maybe Paranormal.. - May 23rd 2012, 01:49 PM

I'll get to the point. I talk to myself. Sort of. I engage conversation as if someone else is in the room when it's empty. Sometimes I can't tell if I really am crazy or if this is a creative way for me to socialize since I have no social life.

So I imagine usually someone I know sitting in the chair next to mine or standing at most a yard or two away, I see them in my peripheral vision probably because no ones there and its hard to image someone if you're looking at a room straight on. Since all my relationships with my friends have all but evaporated, whoever I'm talking to has become a shadow-like image, like a person who has been faded and blacked out.

The paranormal thing comes from a show I watched while flipping channels, this medium went to a doctor (or something, cant remember exactly) with headaches and meantal issues and the Dr worked with her to find out she could talk to the dead. I'm not sure I believe in that kinda thing but it certainly beats being crazy.

This has been happening since before I can remember.

Doesn't sound crazy to me, humans are social creatures and we have a need to talk with people. That's just how we're programmed, and like you said if you have nobody else to talk to then it only makes sense that you would sort of in a way create a replacement for the lack of people in your life.
think of that movie where the guy gets stranded on an island and befriends a volleyball. He wasn't really crazy, and in fact that might have kept him from going crazy.
Although it isn't really healthy simply because being social with other people is an integral part of human existence, you're really not crazy.

I talk to my cat; doesn't mean I am crazy though.
