well, i just recently found out that i might be slightly claustrophobic. I'm alright with small spaces, i live for them, but when it's a small space with 3 or more people in it, i start getting really short breaths and i get dizzy and i start having a panic attack. at camp i was in the small kitchen with the other 10 girls listening to instructions when i started panicing and pushed past peole to leave. i just waited outside until they were done and asked my group if we could discuss our food ideas outside because i was still recovering. today in tech, we were in the wood shop and our teacher brought us up the stairs the the wood storage. its a small, concret room that you have to go up rickety stairs that are almost 90 degrees steep. i was standing in the and i could see how high it was through a window and started panicing and i was the first one to get down and i was still shaking 20 minutes later. i dont mind it, but i know our teacher will get us to go up there again at somepiont and i dont want to go, its embarrasing because this time i felt my eyes welling up. i dont want to tell him i dont feel comfortable up there because thats embarassing too! what do i do?

Hey Rashel

I am moving your thread to the Mental Health Forum as I feel it will get better replies there. If you have any questions or disagree with my decision, please feel free to PM me.

You are not alone in being claustrophobic. There are many people out there who are the same way. It is nothing to be embarrassed about. What I'll suggest is, talk to someone about it if you haven't already. Also, do let your tech teacher know this. I know that it is scary. But trust me, teachers are not just here to teach you their subjects. They do try to help you in matters such as these.

Good luck
