I'm Lost - March 21st 2014, 01:35 AM

I keep having thoughts, especially while in bed, about my own existence. Who am I? Is being alive really worth it? What's the purpose in life? What is the point? Life seems aimless and I'm losing my grasp on reality.

Re: I'm Lost - March 21st 2014, 03:33 PM

I've experienced something far too similar to this. As an eighteen year old, I still wonder what the point in all this is, and I start to wonder if there's actually a reason and purpose to why we're here. And what if this is just imagination, you know? Either way, I know this is really cliche, but the only way to get those answers is to keep going through life and to keep fighting. We're put through tests of misery only so we can shape ourselves from it and become stronger. It's cliche, but in order to realize happiness, we need to know what sadness is. But excuse me, I'm going off on a bit of a tangent.

It's easy to feel like life is pretty aimless because we're just doing things for the sake of doing them, and not really sure what's going to come from it. I ask myself those same questions every single day that I go to college; I wonder if all of this is really a good use of my time, and if life really is so short, what am I doing in school? But I'm continuing to go with the flow until I find some answers, and I only hope that you do the same.

Make a purpose out of your existence and find something you love to do. Find a passion, a hobby, find something that proves to you that life is worth living. We're all just people trying to make it through our lives as peaceful and as best we can.

Don't give up, there's a reason. You just don't know it right now.

No one knows of a reason it's why we have philosophers. I really can't see a point in anything. Even things I like to do seem empty.
