Any suggestions?? - March 26th 2014, 01:44 AM

So basically I've had these crazy impulses since I was 10 years old. Most only bad impulses include hurting or killing myself or hurtin or killing someone else or maybe saying something I don't want say. Does his count as hearing voices that tell you to do stuff? I'm not completely sure..also I'm on a mood stabilizer but should I be on other medications for this? Is here a certain diagnosis for this behavior and thinking? This happens no matter what my mood is. What do you think?

Hi Ginger,

So, because you ARE on a mood stabilizer, I'm going to venture and say that you're seeing a mental health professional regularly. No one on this site is going to be able to tell you exactly what "normal" is for you because it varies so much person to person. You should really talk to whatever doctor you're seeing because it's likely that they know you better. A Doctor would also be able to adjust your medications if they think something is off. Hope this helps!

Are these impulses that disturb you? As in, are they things that you think represent how you actually feel, or are they something else?

They don't sound like you are hearing voices? Perhaps its worth talking to a professional, and perhaps consider with them if this is maybe a type of ('pure-o') OCD or something else?
