hearing voices - September 2nd 2014, 08:27 PM

Hi everyone what's up
I'm not in an emergency right now and I'm not like in danger or anything

but for a few years now I've been hearing mumbling in my ear.

I think I might just have an overactive imagination and that might be what's caused me to hear things and think there are people watching me all the time.

When I was in high school I went through an issue where I thought demons were talking to me and it was really scary.

I've moved on from that and I'm not afraid anymore but I still feel surrounded by people that aren't really there.

I thought maybe it was ghosts or spirits or whatever. I was even convinced that I could create people when I was lonely and they would keep me company. But things can get out of hand.

I guess there's not real reason for me making this post other than to vent. I don't really tell people this stuff because it makes everyone freak out.

I have a psychiatrist but I'm on so many drugs that I feel tired all the time and I have no motivation to do anything. I'm in college and I'm doing my best to keep up with the work. I'll be starting statistics class tomorrow.

flower
hello my heart where have you been
I missed you when you left
you ran away with that senseless boy
and left me dim and dry
like a faded flower in the mist

Come back my heart. you have a home here
In this place that is my soul
I want to feel like whole again. don't waste your time with him

Have faith my heart. You'll get a second chance
come back to me and you will not be alone

Well, I don't freak out. I personally don't really put much into spirits thing but hey.. who knows?
Other wise creating people to talk to in your mind is something I do too. Though they don't really talk back unless I tell what they need to say and than I still don't hear it.
Aside from that as long as you can keep real from imaginative and consider drastic choices really well and don't let them be influenced by the voices I could say it makes lonely buss trips a lot more sociable

I don't really have much knowledge about hearing voices but maybe you could get one or two of them to help you study. Your subconsiousness can do a lot and humans only use a little of their brain power. If those voices are from your subconsiousness maybe they can tell you things you didn't know you knew. Like compartementalising.

And about the drugs: If they are straining you maybe you should talk with you psychiatrist about it? If you could lessen it without being a danger for yourself or others than you should go for what's best for you and that might be with or without them.

You might want to consider having someone who you see often help you check if you are still fully living in the world of the average human though. I don't know how big your problem is but this should be something you could talk with you psychiatrist about.

Hi Will,

I am wondering if the medications you are taking could be affecting you in this way. You mentioned they are making you very tired and you do not have motivation to do any of your work. It could be helpful for you to talk to your psychitrist about the medications you are on, that you are hearing voices and the effects that the medications are having on you.
Medications can definitely be helpful (after all, they exist to help people) but at times, too many of them or the wrong combinations can be dangerous or, I am thinking in this situation, cause things to get worse or not improve at all.
If you find that talking to your psychiatrist is not helpful, than it could be best for you to possibly see a new psychiatrist.
You deserve help and a part of that help is talking to those that can help you about how your medication is affecting you. The more open you are, the more help you can get (even though that can be a scary and dautning process). It is worth it.
Hopefully this helps and you can PM me if you would like some more support or someone to listen to you.
Take care.
