How do you cope with holiday stress? -
December 2nd 2019, 02:34 PM
Hello,
The holidays are upon us and as such there's going to be a lot of holiday stress. I was curious how you all cope with holiday stress?
I tend to watch a lot of holiday movies. Last year I even watched a few holiday movies with a friend.
I also try and distract myself by going to the different light shows in my town. I love Christmas decorations and seeing all the beautiful lights helps ease the stress.
What are some things you all do to cope with any stress that might arise during the holiday season?

The holiday season can be super triggering and I find that breath work really helps calm you down. I also think it's a great idea scheduling therapy sessions before and after the holidays. The first to get you ready and the latter to help cope with any new stressors. Good luck!

Sometimes I just have to take a step back and be by myself. I try to watch holiday movies or listen to music when I have time though. I really want to see more lights this year!

To be honest, I actually don't get stressed during holidays. I know for a lot of people, times like Christmas can be really stressful, worrying about gifts, money, or other kinds of things. For me it's just another part of the year.
There have been times where I've been worried if I'm going to be able to give Christmas gifts to family due to finances, but it's more of a worry than a stress.
