This is a good question.

I usually go to the gym as often as I can as to release my endorphins, spend as much time as I can doing things I love to do, spending time with family, friends and my boyfriend and I try to limit my time spent on social media. I also love researching things that inspire me to do better at my own hobbies such as photographers photos.

When I do have a bad mental health day, I do my best to spend as much time as I can relaxing and doing things I enjoy such as reading a book in bed, watching a movie, listening to music, etc.

I go to the gym. I always enjoy working out and lifting heavy weights.

I go to therapy, of course! I also try to go to the gym to do Zumba because it is fun for me, but I'll also catch up with shows on the treadmill. I'm trying to get more into mobile/silly Internet games.

Work, lol, with my current job title it's quite a distraction. Therapy, reading, music, and talking to friends I trust.

1. (of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
2. (of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.

We all possess resilience, we just need to realize it.

I draw and I try to get out and see my friends and family.
I try to not just sit at home and feel bad.
It’s not good for me to just be alone.

Awesome question!

I make sure that I have enough downtime to regroup and de-stress, as I'm definitely someone who needs her breaks and alone time. I also enjoy playing games online, listening to music, watching videos on YouTube, and building a sense of mastery by learning new skills. Right now I'm working on improving my singing and hope to begin learning the electric guitar relatively soon!

I write. Words have amazing power over me and my brain can become a jumbled mess at times. Writing, either in my personal blog or in the form of poetry/short stories to be publishedo n Twitter, really helps me get my thoughts sorted out. It eases whatever agitation or negative thinking I might hae. Words, when used appropriately, can have resonating power.

I write, and I make sure to go out and see my friends regularly

Re: What do you do to look after your mental health? - February 19th 2020, 04:07 PM

I like to keep busy. When I feel strong enough I leave the house because it's good for me to see a change of scenery sometimes. If I keep on my feet even if I am just cleaning the house it's a good distraction.

I write about my feelings or use poems especially. I like to create things, so baking, writing, or anything of the sort. I spend time with my animals and with the people who mean the most to me.

I also like the little things, such as using a hand lotion with a calming scent, burning a candle, or something similar. I keep the blinds open to let natural light in, sit outside. I try to absorb them to keep myself present.

Aside from therapy and my other appointments I take it one day at a time. Sometimes less at once if I'm really struggling.

Re: What do you do to look after your mental health? - February 21st 2020, 09:52 PM

I try to keep busy or distract myself. I like to tidy my room as it helps me to feel productive. I also like helping my mum out with things or just going out as it takes my mind off whatever is bothering me. I listen to music or watch things to boost my mood or help me to relax. I also try to exercise on my bike (need to do more of this) as that helps me feel healthier and better about my body. I used to do mindfulness, and probably should try that again. I also miss playing the sims as that would really help me escape from things. Blogging is also helpful but then I tend to ruminate on things

Otherwise, I try to be more gentle with myself. I try to be more accepting of uncertainty and try to take little steps to improve my life. I also try to take more notice of the good things and keep remembering these when I feel low.

I've also been told to spend more time with friends but that can be difficult to navigate.

I try to stick
this one: Every day at least once do something to relax, whether it's a short walk or 30 minutes of rest in silence.
Every day, do something pleasant for yourself: go to the cinema, cook your favorite dish, arrange a meeting with friends.
Look for opportunities to laugh.
