I need advice. Please, no criticism or skeptics. - April 6th 2010, 12:15 AM

So, to begin.
I have never had a history of mental health issues in my family... ever.

It all started when I was younger, and I knew I had a problem.
My parents say I would have deep conversations with ... well.. nothing.

Then when I was looking through pictures, I found one of my grandfather and I said thats the man who I talked to.

My grandfather died 10 years before I was born.

It stopped for a while, then later in my life around when I was 12... I went to a cemetery to visit my grandfathers grave.
While I was walking around, I heard voices, saw a man in a black cape. I turned away because I was scared, and I turned back. Where the man in the black cape was standing, there was a dog... who ran into the ground.

I told my parents and they said it was my imagination.

Then it stopped for a while.

Then around a year ago, I began seeing black objects out of the corner of my eyes. I would turn to look and they would quickly disappear.
I would hear voices, calling my name... saying other things too.

And something very strange started not too long ago...

I would have a STRONG feeling something would happen, and it would.

I had a feeling that I would miss a day of school, then I oversleep and miss school involuntarily.

I had a feeling specific teachers were going to be absent, and they were.

I had a feeling there was going to be a huge fight, I imagined it and everything.
And they way I imagined it... it went EXACTLY that way the next day.

And I had a feeling a certain teacher passed... next day it was announced he did.

And so on and so forth.

I have had about... 10+ of these "images" in my head... these strong predictions... and they all come true.

Whats happening?!
Im so scared.

I'm not exactly being skeptical, seeing as my one nephew used to talk to his grandfather, "Charlie", who he never met. And when he saw a home video, he pointed and said "Charlie!". So I mean, it's possible that you had a supernatural experience.

However, some points you made, like your example "I had a feeling that I would miss a day of school, then I oversleep and miss school involuntarily.", that could've merely been subconscious. I know I've had like, dreams of things happening at school, and they did. Like a particular conversation.

Some of the predictions you mentioned can be easily accounted for by you influencing your own behavior and cognition. Although you may not consciously think it, you can take into consideration the circumstances surrounding each event you mentioned. For example, if a teacher was predicted to be late and they were, it can be random luck along with considering that, say, it was say spring and they had severe hayfever.

When you see something out of the corner of your eye, you have the least visual acuity there, so although there may indeed be something, you have poor ability to distinguish what it is. When it's moving fast, the reduced accuracy gets reduced even further so I wouldn't make a big deal out of those issues.

In general I don't believe in supernatural mumbo jumbo being real and true (my reasons would derail this thread).

The event in the grave could be brief psychosis or it could be incorrectly analyzing what you saw. Is it probable a man in a cape and a dog were there? Yes. Is it probable the man moved and was out of sight? Yes. Is it probable the dog lay down or began digging a small hole or went into a hole? Not so much but it can perfectly account for what you saw. This also depends how far away you were from the man and the dog, the time of day and weather, any substances in your body, any vision problems you may have had and so forth.

Hey there,

It is possible that some of your predictions could be influenced by your own thoughts and behaviours, even if it is simply subconscious. This is something that quite a lot of people do experience and I wouldn't consider it to be severly abnormal.

I can understand why you may feel as though something is 'not right' or that you may have an issue with your mental health then it may be helpful to see a professional about what you have been experiencing, even if it is just to put your mind at rest or to give you some reassurance. If this is deeply effecting or bothering you, then it's worth talking to someone about.

Take care of yourself.
