Question I want to get better, but how? - January 27th 2011, 04:41 PM

Hi, I didn't really know where to post this, but I think this is the right room, so here we go.
I'm a 17 year old girl.
I have now for over a year had constant nausea.
About half a year ago, I decided that I really should find out what was wrong with me, because it was getting worse and I still have not gotten any answer to what it may be only maybe something on my mind ..
The Dockers have been testing me for allergies, taken a lot of blood samples and other samples like a gastroscopy, which is where they take a little camera into your stomach , but all samples have been completely normal, so no help there ..
I started getting a lot of mood swings after I moved out to my father.
I can walk around one minute and be really happy and then the next minute sit alone and cry in my room without knowing why ..
I've also been to an ordinary doctor because I was afraid I was depressed, it could in fact also be why I was nauseas, but the doctor said that I was not depressed ..
Therefore I have no idea why I always feel bad and it makes me more and more upset every day, sometimes it's so bad that I don't want to live, which is unlike me to think. . I've always been a really happy and smiling girl, but when it seem like I'm happy now. it's usually just a mask that hides my pain away ..
It's so hard for me ...
Does anyone know the feeling or have an idea for what I can do to get better?

Thanx
-Amy

Well, have you considered seeing a counselor? You don't need a doctor to recommend you to one, and pretty much anyone, no matter what their issue, can see a counselor.

If your doctor is telling you that you don't have Depression, and you feel you do, you could also bring up the issue multiple times.

Thanx
I have considered that, but if you don't have a note from your doctor, then it's really expensive, at least that's how it is here where I'm from..
I don't really have the money to pay, and when I talk to my parents about, they keep saying that nothing's wrong and that I don't need it ..
It's like they don't really care any more..
When I say I'm feeling really sick they just go "you always say that" and then just walk the other way..

Are you in school? A lot of schools have counselors for free. High schools sometimes do, colleges and universities pretty much always have counselors on-campus.

No, I'm not in school. I finished..
Though things are different here, I'm from Europe, Denmark, and here in Denmark our school is a lot different compared to other schools around the world. We don't have High School..

Well then there isn't much else you can do, aside from trying to talk to the doctor again.

Have you maybe researched some clinics near you? I know in various places around the world, some clinics offer free or reduced services because they are aimed more at helping than at profit, if that makes sense? I'm sure if you look into it enough, there might be somewhere close to you like this, more likely so if you live near a large city?

Thanx for all the good responses..
On most Danish websites, nobody takes you serious when you write things like this, so thank you so much
