CAMHS Tiers? - April 10th 2011, 06:04 PM

People keep mentioning different tiers of CAMHS and I am really confused.
Apparently I'm being referred to Tier 3 on Thursday?
What the Fuck does that mean?
I know I'm seeing a Psychiatrist, but that's about it.
My therapist then said he will decide if I am referred to Tier 4.
I didn't even know there was such thing as Tier 4...so any sort of explanations would be awesome guys.
I've tried searching it on the internet, but it's not very useful to be honest :/

Well, I found a link online that explains it:

Check Page 2, about half-way down, and it explains the Tiers of CAMHS.

They basically have different tiers depending on how severe and complex your problems are. Tier 2 and 3 is the normal kind of level. I think tier 4 is hospital inpatient treatment. I hope your appointment goes ok. Keep us updated on how you get on. Good luck

Re: CAMHS Tiers? - April 10th 2011, 08:34 PM

tier 1 = gp's or school nurses etc

tier 2 = counsellors and such for people to speak to and help plan stuff for you

tier 3 = just tier 2 but for more serious cases, stuff like being at risk to yourself or others

tier 4 = they called it residential i think, where you will have help at hand pretty much all the time

Glad I dont work at CAMHS anymore, their system is poop, but I did my best to help fix some of it for tier 2

I doubt they will take you to tier 4 Charli, you are too innocent just be good for me :] and dont do anything I wouldnt do
