zone out and black out - September 30th 2011, 11:50 PM

Ok illl start from the beginning
I've been zoning out a lot latey. And when I do all I see is a girl on some mall garage trying to get away from something all I hear is get away from me get away. After that I. Black out. And when I come back to my senses iit like I'm doing something different than what I shoud be. Like I don't know why but I was at unch and I put an oreo into a litte cup of beans and eat it. At least that's what my friends tell me, because I don't know. Either my mind is making me act weirder than I aready am or I'm just going crazy.

Hi Daisy.

If you're having black outs, you should definitely go and see your doctor.

It's quite normal to zone out now and again (e.g. day dreaming, getting lost in thought, etc), but blacking out is a symptom of a physical problem and you should really speak to a professional about it.

I agree with Jasmine. The first step is to see your family doctor/general practitioner and receive a general check-up. Next step may be to see a neurologist, as there could be a biological/chemical cause for your blackouts, vs. a psychological cause. If medical conditions have been ruled out (ex. brain tumors, seizures), ask for a referral to a psychological professional.
