Unhappy don't have self body love - October 1st 2011, 03:30 AM

I feel like I have two different personality, a girly girl personality, and a tomboy personality. I don't know which one to follow, I want to be neat, like everyother girls, but the tomboy, or dirty side of me always wins. and thats because I'm the only one supporting my self and I can't support my self I always end up quiting. what should I do

Hey! welcome to TH!

I get how you feel about this. I am also the same, girly and tomboy. I tried being neat but it never worked out because its just not me. I may have a girly side but when it comes to arranging things, the tomboy side rules over me. But its okay. Its who I am. Its a part of being me. Don't try to change who you are. Your imperfections define you. They make you different from others. Be proud of them!

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

I'm also this way. I agree with the above poster that you shouldn't change who you are. Just do what feels comfortable for you, whether it happens to be cutesie that day, or tomboy, or even a combination of both. I tend to be both. Some days I'm going for a cute look, other days I just feel like throwing on a t-shirt. It really doesn't matter, as long as you're comfortable with yourself. You'll get there eventually.

I agree with both of the above posters. You can be both and there is nothing wrong with it. Some days I pull on sweats and a baggy shirt and don't shower (I know that's not a tomboy, just making a point). While other days I shower and dress up, do my makeup, etc.

It's fine to not always be 'prissy' or however you would want to put it.

I think what you should work on instead of battling within yourself, is to gain some self confidence. Work on making yourself feel better about yourself.

I feel this is more a Mental Health issue, so I will move this there. But do work on self confidence. Maybe they can give you some tips

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

Who says you have to choose? You can always be both! What makes you a girly girl and a tomboy? Its some aspects of both that you like. You can have preferences for both and that makes up who you are. We are all a combination of things, nobody is ever really strictly a stereotype.
