How can I calm my anxiety problems at night time? - November 7th 2011, 11:12 AM

At night time I have severe anxiety and paranoia problems. I continually convince myself that I can hear noises downstairs and I scare myself into believing that someone is trying to/has broken into my home. As a result of this I am up and down the stairs double checking locks etc, and this goes on for hours. I'm hardly sleeping and its really taking its toll. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this problem?

Ever thought of getting those relaxing CD's of like rain and rain forest sounds? I know listening to that at night can keep people relaxed and help them sleep.
