I noticed that for a while, I believe that people are talking about me, especially at work. I think that the managers and the other crew members are saying how shit of a job I'm doing even though I started last week.
I know it's probably not true but I can't help think that their constantly talking about me. I know it's unavoidable for people to talk behind your back. But it's always on my mind. I'm afraid that their going to fire me because I'm doing a bad job. Re: Paranoia? -

Considering that you are dealing with OCD, it's not surprising (in my experience anyway) that you're having these kinds of paranoid, intrusive thoughts (seeing as that's partly what OCD itself is).
My advice is to be open and honest with them about your performance and ask that they do the same. Say something like, "I know I'm new and I haven't picked everything up yet, but I want to learn, so if you see me doing something wrong or want to give me advice, please do so". That way they are less likely to say things behind your back (if they are that is), because you have given them complete permission to say it to you. I've been "the new girl" several times and I know there have been times when another employee has wanted to say something about my practice, but didn't because they didn't want to upset me. But once I explained that I would rather they just flat out told me, they started to do so... and it stopped me worrying that they were discussing things with others behind my back. ![]() ![]() |
