Forgetting to eat and "Graze boxes" -
January 9th 2012, 01:12 PM
I figured I'd post this here, but it's not necessarily an eating disorder. However, it might be relevant to some of you, and I thought it was maybe a good idea.
I often forget to eat and drink. It's just a side symptom of my depression - I don't get hungry and I don't enjoy food, so I simply forget about it. Obviously its an issue because I'm making myself ill and losing, but I'm working on getting over this obstacle. My mum suggested trying to snack little and often - but I still don't have the motivation and when I do, I binge eat things like chocolate and crisps. Anyway. My friend was raving about these "graze boxes". You sign up to the site and they send [postbox sized] boxes of things for you to nibble on. You can "rate" items that you're interested in - they do stuff like nuts, dried fruit, fresh bread, olives and other healthy, organic food stuffs. Ok, it costs £3.49 a box. But it got me thinking. I've ordered one to try, but I figured on days when I feel OK, I'm going to make my own graze box. I can put in carrot sticks, celery, nuts and fruit...all the healthy snacks I love. So. Idea? For those of you who struggle with eating - whether it's you don't want to or you can't - this is a healthy, easy to snack-on, hassle-free way of eating. I know trying to cope with eating disorders is hard - but when I was really ill a few years ago, my mum used to keep bowls like this for me, and it slowly got me back into the swing of eating regularly. What do you guys think? ![]() Just a hop, skip and a jump. |

I don't have a problem with not eating, but this is a really good idea! I've never heard of something like this. And you know, it might just help a lot of people. When I give advice to people with similar issues to yours, I usually tell them to eat something light on their stomachs that's healthy. Because at least then they're still getting nutrients and what not. But overall, I think this is a good idea! Every should try it!
