Are my eating habits becoming a problem? - January 21st 2012, 01:16 AM

So I was off of any kind of exercise for over 8 months, and gained quite a bit of weight.

It started with me starting to go for jogs again (not really supposed to yet, but I got permission from my Vistibular Therapist as long as it doesn't cause my concussion symptoms to come back, and my knee is already screwed up for life so it will manage). Ya know, nothing major. I jog once a day, right after school. Weekends I'll go for jogs twice/three times a day because I have much more time.

I feel like I'm really fat. I'll link to a pic of me in my new Semi-Formal dress from last weekend. So I've started watching what I'm eating. I've even researched stuff on anorexia.. Just because I feel so freakin' pressured!

I'm supposed to have at LEAST [EDITED]

Today I added up the calories I had [EDITED]

I'm starting to think about eating less than that, because I really think I need to lose weight. I'm 14 years old, and used to be able to do over 4 hours of soccer practice no problem. Now I'm starting to push myself super hard, sprinting through snow storms and in 2* weather, I'm starting not to want to eat because of the calories in things. I've turned down things that used to be tradition with my friend and I, but of how I'm watching to make sure I eat as little as possible. I occasionally skip meals because I don't want to eat and get fat, so I just drink water.

...Is something bad developing here? The lady who makes sandwiches in the school lunch (she knows me really well because my dad works at the school) said she was going to keep her eye on me because she was worried about me barely eating anything for lunch.
I just feel so pressured to be skinny because of how all of the pretty girls (on TV and in school) are skinnier and I want to be that! And yeah, there is boy pressure but that is a small factor.
I'm just annoyed because I'm driving myself mad (my tank that is supposed to be fitted is getting pretty loose but I see no difference!) driving myself away from food to fit in, but I can't stop it. Then people are getting all concerned and I don't want them telling other teachers I need help (it's a small private school, not like things stay a secret for long haha) because I'm not eating.

Advice? Words of wisdom? Oh, here is the link (excuse the stupid face, I was uberly tired by the time we took that). Cookies for reading this all! I appreciate it.

[EDITED]

RIP To my dog, Max. He was the best friend, I've had him since I was 4. I love you sweetheart, you'll always be in my heart. Life will be hard without you, but I'm so glad you are out of pain.

Hm, not sure what others here will think but it seems like you are perhaps feeling the pressure from YOURSELF to be thinner. If you have a concrete number of calories that your doctor has recommended you eat per day it's probably best that you stick with that. Losing weight quickly, you are MUCH more likely to not keep it off and it can really screw with your metabolism. If you are really concerned with the amount of weight you've put on, it's a better idea to see a doc or perhaps consult a dietician to determine what kind of eating patterns would be best for your goals.

"Ignore the ramblings of the ignorant, and step on or over their crumpled bodies as you make your way to the top of the mountain. Eat upon their flesh for fuel, and, through your determination and will, banish them to obscurity and a life of complacency and self righteousness that is the hell in which they live"

My doctors haven't given me a number, I did an online BMI and Calorie calculator, and then consulted my health books from like, two years ago to see the recommended. My doctors, all 12 or so of them, are focused on making sure my concussion has gone away, I adjust to my partial-blindness, and my knee is taken care of. Thanks for the help. Everybody is just getting so worried as I'm obsessing about eat calorie I eat/drink, and I'm literally obsessing about the calories and exercise that I am getting daily.
