Exclamation Please help - September 9th 2012, 08:18 AM

So I'm a 16 year old guy, and after my shower yesterday I did a quick self check, and found a grape sized lump, underneath my skin in the right side of my groin. It's located at just above where pubic hair begins to grow. It is underneath the skin and hurts a bit when I push down on it. I can only see slight swelling in the skin, and I wouldn't have found it if I didnt check around.

Also, I have a few small sores on the right side of my stomach (same side as lump) and Im not sure if they are actually infected, but they are slightly swelled, and when I squeeze them small amounts of clear fluid comes out. Now, I did some research about this and maybe thinking that the lump could by a swollen lymph node, due to nearby infection or something, but that's just my guess.

If anyone has any other ideas, help would be greatly appreciated. I'm definitely seeing my gp about this, so please try not to suggest going to the doctor. But thankyou for any replies

Unfortunately, there's not much I can suggest other than getting checked out by a Doctor ASAP, and keeping checking on them.

I think the other thing I have to say is "well done". However trivial or otherwise this could be, the fact that you do check yourself for irregular lumps, etc. is really good.
Good luck.

Yeah thankyou I wasn't really expecting much advice, hard to give it when you can't really examine it. But thankyou for replying, and I plan to keep checking on it, hopefully it's nothing serious and goes down soon.

I would say, if the lumps were hard and moveable with your fingers it could be a tumour but more likely for what you described it could just be a infection or even gallstones but they left the gall bladder and got stuck, or even clots. So I could hurry up and see a specialist!

Best of luck,
Jay.
