Antiseptic cream 'down there' - October 19th 2012, 09:47 PM

Basically recently I've found myself getting a little sore down there - I know it's not an STI or anything and I've been using some Antiseptic cream it does say to use for nappy rash etc, and I've had this soreness down there since I used a different brand of sanitry towels but it didn't flare up straight away till like a couple of days after my period had stopped, it then went away, it's come back and I'm using anti-septic cream down there - is it okay to do this the cream is helping and I'm laying off washing 'down there' with anything other than water, but is it safe to use this cream down there, even though on the packaging of the cream it does say 'suitable for use with problems such as nappy rash, cuts, grazes , small wounds and chapped hands' . but this isn't nappy rash more irritation from changing my brand of sanitry towel ?

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to use, it just might smell a bit weird since nappy rash cream does smell weird

You can get special branded creams for use with vaginal soreness/itchiness called Vagisil so you could try that if the other cream doesn't work well.

It seems to have stopped being sore and itchy down there - I believe that I had thrush and after using some cannistan and not wearing tight clothing for a day it has stopped and am no longer sore etc down there. This can be closed now thanks.

Before it's closed i have a tip, if you get thrush again use natural yoghurt, just smear a whole tub down there and where a nightdress/night shirt to let it breath, it cools it and pretty much kills the itchyness!

If you use this method, be sure to apply GREEK yogurt with no flavor! It needs to be as pure as possible. And use hygienic methods to apply.

Glad it has stopped. Closing at OPs request.
