Hmmm, okayyy - November 17th 2012, 11:41 AM

So, I'm an insomniac, I went 4 days with absolutely NO sleep. yeah, yeah, that isn't good. I know!
Anyway, today, I passed out on the lounge (I have a cold so that was acceptable). Anyway, when I woke, I couldn't quite wake up. I was drifting between the realm of sleep and the land of wake. I could hear mums tv on, and then silence and it'd be like i was having a peview of a dream and then I'd hear the tv again. Is this common with insomniacs? Mum had to shake me to get me up!

P.S It is 11:40 pm here right now..

Jay.

Well, not particularly. However, considering you went 4 days without sleep, it's not surprising. I've gone a few days without sleep and had the same thing happen.

I would try to work on your insomnia with a doctor, but otherwise that particularly symptom doesn't seem too worrying. It's weird, for sure, but nothing terrible.

Do be warned if you go too long without sleep, your body stops functioning properly and it can be fatal. So definitely get with someone to help treat the insomnia.

My mum found me awake at 12 last night, and then she said that insomnia is a symptom f anxiety and depression (yes I have both) but she doesn't believe I actually HAVE any of that.... She is in denial.... And it really annoys me when I say I have insomnia and she says 'oh yeah, it's only because you fell asleep at mid-day' I freaking fell asleep BECAUSE I had no sleep...

Jay.
