Green urine and a yellow tongue, why? - March 3rd 2013, 11:32 AM

This might sound a little weird and I have no idea if the two are related but over the past few days my urine has been green (But not as such "cloudy") and my tongue has become quite yellow and I have no idea why this would be. I was just wondering whether anyone would have any idea as to why? I'm not going to use your advice instead of medical help, it's cool.

The yellow tongue is probably not related. If your eyes or skin start to turn yellow or orange, it would be jaundice from the liver or gallbladder. However, it is quite common for your tongue to change yellow. Mostly it's just a certain type of bacteria in your mouth. It usually goes away on its own with proper hygiene.

The green urine could be caused by a urinary tract infection or certain medications. If you are taking any medications, check their side effects and see if one is change of urine color.

My first thought is that it could be a medication that you are on so search side affects of what you are on.

If that's not a possibility then it could be some sort of infection--not enough bacteria in the mouth and a UTI or something like Kelly mentioned--or it could be something you ate like asparagus--and it could be jaundice, but that is only if your skin and/or eyes turn yellow...
