Heart screening? - August 6th 2013, 12:24 AM

Hey there!

So I am probably going to get my heart screened whenever I go get my athletics physical. I was wondering if anyone has had this done before? I just want to know what I can expect, how long the results take, and how it works. I was also wondering if anyone knew exactly what they looked for when screening it.

Thanks in advance!

My twin sister has hers done every few years because she has a heart murmur, and also now is being diagnosed with a disorder having to do with electric energy in the heart. It's not a big deal at all! Real chill. No pain, just kind of annoying to have a bunch of things connected to you, but the tests are fairly easy. Just be completely honest with questions, it helps them find problems much easier.

I was born with a murmur also, but they just watched it and it closed on it's own somewhere between ages 5 and 15. I ended up having an ultrasound though, nothing to worry about, they just used too much gel on me and I couldn't get it all off.

Thanks for the responses!
Haha, I'm glad it doesn't hurt, I've had this electronic test for something else before and it hurt really bad. It's kind of made me question any tests now, but I'm glad that it isn't a big deal

Once again, thanks for the responses. Really appreciate it
