Scoliosis - March 3rd 2017, 01:05 PM

I'm in so so so much pain right now, and have been for a long time but it recently has become worst. I've grown up with a curved spine all my life. School photos were a pain literally. Photographers always saying stand up straight and I'm like I am. I recently got diagnosed with Scoliosis and that was probably 4/5 months ago. My curvy spine is caused by my legs, one is 2cm shorter than the other, and yet I'm so so tall I'm on the waiting list for an appointment with the specialist and have been waiting since I've found out.

Lately it feels like my spine twists itself around, when I extend or reach my arm out to something, it feels like my ribs and shoulder blades are touching each other and my spine. Everything is a big pain. I'm constantly crying because it's so painful. I can't bend over, it's an uncomfortable pain. I lose sleep, I've been eating less and less. I don't know what else to do.

I went to the Emergeny Department recently and they turned me away when I was in so much pain because it's not a treatable thing to treat. They gave me painkillers which doesn't affect me at all.

Plus! I have Fibromyalgia, and it's 1000 times worst. I don't know what to do except wait.

I am so sorry to hear this and feeling bad for unable to help much

Is it possible to get pain killers for the moment if is causing so much pain? I hope it actually helps a birthday to kill pain. And I really recommend fast medication for your case since otherwise it may hurt you even more.

I am sorry. I really do not how to help with this, but perhaps you can talk to your doctor about having external support for your back to restraighten the spine?

I am sorry that I can't help you with your physical pain, but if you ever feel hurt with your feelings because of this, you can always talk to me via PM. I hope you can have the treatments very soon Because you really need it.

Do my best at everything I can to live a happy, perfect life.

Happy life won't come by being happy everyday. Struggle and always work hard.

Forgive other's imperfection, they will work hard about it once I point it out to them, just like what I should be doing.

On the other hand, never tolerate with my own mediocrity. Never slack and always strive improvement.

Never settle. Never give up.

Hi there. So I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 10. My curves were bad. About 65 degree curve. I had back braces and had a spinal fusion in 2008. And now everything is good...I also had 4, leg surgeries. To even out the length. I highly suggest you don't go with pain killers. Instead, please please please seek out a good orthopedic doctor. And have them treat you properly. That's the best thing you can do. Pain killers won't help at all. Message me if you need more help. I'm more than happy to help you!!!

Edit: I re read your post, that you are about to see a specialist and that's really good. Don't do hard core painkillers...stick with ibuprofen extra strength. Pain killers, temporarily stop pain...it's really easy to get hooked to them. Also, try heating pad...it will help the muscle pain. Look up at home back exercises to help the pain too.. Loosen muscles.
