It would probably be a good idea to get this checked out since it could be an indication that you've had some type of allergic reaction. Since we aren't professionals we cannot tell you what is causing this but your general practitioner might be able to look into it to determine what is going on.

If the swelling goes down before you are able to get into the doctor it would still be a good idea to go. There is no guarantee that they will be able to determine the cause of it but they'd have the tools to try.

Best regards.

I agree with the above. It might be something small like maybe you bit or burnt your tongue or maybe it's an ulcer. But it could also be an infection, especially if you have other symptoms.

Try sticking with soft foods, and maybe swirling your mouth out with salt water and keep an eye on the swelling and see your doctor when you can. If it gets worse, and you find you are struggling to breath, go to A&E or out of hours.

Hi,
I'm sorry you are having a hard time right now. I also think that it's a good idea to go and get checked out. If the swelling goes down you can still go and get checked out and let them know about this and what is going on. They will be able to do some tests and figure out what's happening and help you feel better.
I hope you will be ok soon.

The largest reason behind a swollen tongue is because of an allergic reaction, it could also be nothing at all. I get a swollen lip when I have a zit/pimple there.

I recommend going to see someone for it though.

I am glad it has improved. If you have any appointments scheduled with your GP anytime soon you could mention this too them. Even if you both decide that nothing needs to be done, the doctor can make a note for future reference.

Best regards.
