EMG - July 24th 2019, 07:47 PM

So my doctor thinks I have carpal tunnel so she ordered an EMG test. Has anyone on here or does anyone know anyone who has had this done? If so, does it hurt as bad as from what I've read on YouTube video comments?

I've not had an EMG done so I can't speak from personal experience (but I hope someone else can!)

That said, I found this NHS leaflet which states that although you will feel some discomfort it shouldn't be too painful. You may also be sore for a few days after.

If you are concerned about the pain or any after effects, could you talk to your doctor or another health professional? They might be able to talk things through with you and reassure you.

Okay, so I had it done yesterday. It wasn't that awful at all! It was just mildly painful, but I was able to bear it. I hardly felt the needles, it was the first part that was the worst part and it still wasn't that bad I think getting blood work is worse.

Glad to hear it wasn't too painful!
