Question Asthma? - January 6th 2009, 09:44 PM

I've been having random difficulties breathing lately. When I breathe, I feel like no matter what I do I'm not getting enough oxygen. I have an asthma inhaler from four years ago, and I use it when it gets too tough. Sometimes it happens randomly, sometimes it happens near an adrenaline rush (ie strong sudden emotion or exercise) and one time it happened right after I was dizzy. So I'm asking what does anyone think this is and what is asthma? I'm seeing a doctor on Thurs so I'll find out by then. Thanks!

I either feel like no one cares, and that I should be breaking things, and that everything is falling apart, or that everything is great, and I can do anything, and I really do have friends.

I'm stuck halfway in between.

Hi Furubasu,
What you're experiencing could possibly be asthma. I went through a bit of breathlessness a while ago, where I'd feel as if I randomly couldn't breathe. I'd be sitting in class and all of a sudden I'd be gasping or panting tryng to get air. I went to my doctor and she told me that it wasnt asthma, but it was my chest and my chest muscles themselves. She told me that at times, people's chest muscles can get very heavy and tired from dry air or the weather, making it hard to breathe, and evetually making them dizzy from the lack of oxygen.
It could also be stress.
It could be a variety of things, the majority of which are minor and nothing to worry about. It's a good idea that you're seeing your doctor to really see what's going on.

Alright! Thank you so much for the help : ) I'll try to remember to come back here and see what the doctor says.

This could be asthma, yes. I would just keep an open mind about what it could be, and carry your inhaler with you in case you need it until you see the doctor.
