Dropped glass on my foot,

I dropped a photo frame on my foot earlier and its cut all along my big toe and it's been bleeding ever since. I bathed it in salt water and made sure it was clean, it's gone very purple and bruised, i've put one of those anti-septic plasters on it as when i walk it rubs so i didn't want it to get worse.

It's so sore and feels like it's on fire. It was quite a deep cut too and I'm just scared of infections as I have a job interview on Thursday and I'm wearing some sandles so I can't wear socks, what do you suggest? It's stinging so much and I'm scared to even take the plaster off :(

If the cut that you have made on your foot is still bleeding then it would definitely be worth going to the hospital or your doctor and seek medical assistance as if it's very deep then you may benefit from stitches. I think that it may be a good idea to buy some steri-strips rather than plasters (as it may help the wound heal together better) and put those on your cut and then perhaps make sure it's covered with something else on top of that to keep it clean. Otherwise, if it's hurting then you may want to put a cold compress on your foot and take some painkillers, such as paracetemol or ibuprofen if you haven't already.

Thank you, It's stopped bleeding (finalllllly) and I've taken some tablets, I'm just going to keep my foot elevated but it's still really sore.

if it doesn't start to heal in a few days i'd probably go to your GP or a pharmacist so they can advise you. i find pharmacists more helpful than GP's for the most part, and you can just pop in to your local boots and ask them.

I think I might have too, it's still very red and brusing quick, i took the plaster off and put a clean one on after i'd bathed it with salt water.
