Yellow teeth. -
January 11th 2010, 07:22 AM
My teeth have a slight yellow tint to them. I smoked for a few months a year ago and I just recently quit my daily coffee drinking habit, so those are probably contributors. I'm just wondering if solely brushing will help restore whiteness or if I'll have to bleach them. Anyone good with teeth?
Waitin' for my ruca.

You can try brushing with and using whitening mouth wash, I know Crest makes one. If that doesn't improve them enough you can buy white strips at any drug store/Target places like that. They work really well!

I got this awesome kit from the dentist it was 300 bucks and works amazing! The at home whitening kits work as well but they wear the enamel off your teeth reallllllly fast so if you choose something like crest white strips or whatever they are called, use Sensodynes pro-namel, works amazing I reccommend to anyone although it is about 4 or 5 bucks a tube. Usually toothpastes that say they whiten your teeth do not show any dramatic signs of whitening, you just think your teeth are whiter because you are expecting them to be.

Try to brush your teeth 2 to 3 times a day and use mouthwash at night, flossing will also help. When flossing make sure you pull it into the gum line, it can hurt a little the first time if you usually miss that spot, and may bleed as well, but that's how dentists recommend you floss your teeth, and it's best to do it once a day, at night. The best order is Floss > Brush > Mouthwash!
Also, make sure you're using a decent toothbrush - if your current one is 6 months old or more, I suggest you buy a new one, and spend a little more on one as well. It may seem expensive but it's less than $1 a month, if it's dentist recommended, even better. Also look out for dentist approval logos on mouthwash and toothpaste. If you keep brushing 2-3 times a day, they should start to whiten up within 4 weeks.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and wiser, that in itself, is worth the fight. The best way to predict the future is to create it - Peter F. Drucker The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. - Nelson Mandela |
