Psoriasis - March 28th 2010, 06:03 AM

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone here acutally has Psoriasis, because I do, and people always say that you're not alone. But with me living in a small town i actually feel alone so i was just wondering.

Re: Psoriasis - March 28th 2010, 01:28 PM

Hey there, Lilly!

My mom has psoriasis (and I hear it's partially genetic--good news, right? ) But anyway, yeah, sometimes in the winter months, when it's really dry outside and cold, I get mild psoriasis on my elbows. It's not really noticeable to someone who wasn't looking for it, but it's definitely there, and boy does it bother me! One thing I found that helps is if you just buy anti-dandruff shampoo, and put a bit on the affected spots and just keep it there until you take a shower next. Sounds strange, right? Yeah..I know, but if it works, it works!

All that is to say, you're totally not alone. Further evidence? There's also a social group here called Your Biggest Organ - for those of us with skin problems] if you maybe want to check that out and read a little bit about other people's experiences.
