So scared.. help!!! - April 29th 2010, 06:42 AM

Hi..

I woke up this morning and my top front tooth felt really odd, I went and checked it out in the mirror and there's blood all over the tooth next to it, on the tooth itself. I am paranoid it feels wobbly, whether it is or not I don't know I can't and daren't tell. I am so scared, I dont want to have to have a front tooth missing.. it'll make me ugly.

I also had really bad dry mouth.
Never had this before, although I have had some brown stuff on my front teeth.
I have tonsillitis.

What could it mean? Will I lose my tooth?

Whoaa, have it checked out in case it may be something that we wouldn't have known and no; course not, no one loses their teeth unless they don't care enough lol. But get it checked out and you should be able to keep your teeth; tell what happened they should be able to see what's wrong with it or it's okay just a bit you know.

I really suggest you checking it out.

I'm here, just PM me if you need me.

Thanks for replying, so I rung the dentist and I have an appointment for next Thursday, but they said I'll have to cancel if my tonisillitis isnt gone..

Don't know if I can wait that long.. maybe i've got gum disease. I am always very paranoid about my oral health so I probably won't sleep tonight.

Don't worry ! It might just be gingivitis or something. I had to be on medicine for that before, and it's all gone.

I've also had two root canals, and they were a peice of cake. No matter what happens, it'll be alright !

Have it checked out and DONT WORRY AT ALL ABOUT LOSING IT. I had my front tooth extracted during a root canal procedure-- and they just plastered it up, and now it looks exactly the same as a new one! Cosmetically, no difference what-so-ever. Physically, it's completely numb at all times-- so the only downside is that I can't tell when I've had too much to drink at parties.

I don't know whether this could be the case or not, but sometimes I've woken up with blood on my teeth, and it's usually due to cuts and dry skin on my lips that have usually split during the night. It could be that!

If not, I wouldn't worry too much. Try and get your tonsilitis sorted and go and see your dentist. It shouldn't be anything too serious and I doubt you'll lose your tooth!

Hey,
I don't think anyone on here is a dental expert so you'd have to find out from your dentist what is wrong, but I was told at the dentists that a common reason that your gums should bleed is if you have some plaque stuck between your teeth or some food stuck between them, so maybe it is this?

Stop wobbling your tooth though, or you might make it worse. If you are quite OCD about your dental hygiene like you've said you are, I'm sure that you keep your teeth in a good condition and so it won't be anything serious!

Try gargling some salt water for the tonsillitus, it helps! Me & my sister always have it on and off and it usually clears up after a few days of salt gargling, so then you'll be able to see the dentist!

Let us know what the dentist says!
