Cold sore - May 16th 2010, 02:50 AM

Hope this is in the right forum. Anyway, I woke up Thursday morning with a cold sore (fever blister) on the right corner of my mouth -outside-

I haven't had one of these in nearly 2 years and I get one NOW. I have a HUGE interview for my college program Monday morning and I have this on my face! I don't wanna go into my interview with the head of the program with something huge and awul on my lip It looks gross...

I've been putting medication (blistex) on it since Thurs. but it takes forever for it to work. So, I was wondering if anyone knew any quick home remedies for cold sores? Or how I could cover it up?

Thanks!

It's good that you're using Blistex on your cold sore and hopefully it'll help you out. There isn't really and 'quick fix' for cold sores, but you could try applying ice to the affected area to try and reduce any swelling. Witch hazel may also help to relieve the sore if you apply it to the area. As for covering it up, you could try to put a little concealer on the area.
Try not to stress out too much about your interview. Cold sores are relatively common and I'm sure that you won't be judged by having a sore on your lip!

Take care and good luck.
